Dr. Robert Saldaña, author of Tejano Experience, will speak at the Allen Public Library on Sept. 21 at 7:30 p.m. The genealogical book stemmed from the author's efforts to learn more about himself, his family and his fellow Texans of Hispanic descent. It earned a medal from the International Latino Book Awards. Saldaña lives in Burleson and works as an optometrist in Fort Worth. He's a native of Alice, in South Texas.
