Posted Wednesday, September 13, 2023 11:56 am The Weatherford Kangaroos rushed for 234 yards and defeated the Burleson Elks 35-21 on the road Friday night, Sept. 8, at Burleson Stadium. The Kangaroos (2-1) started freshman quarterback Cutter Kennedy due to an injury to senior CJ Thornton last week. Kennedy's debut went well as he was 14-of-20 for 143 yards with one touchdown and one interception passing, along with 28 yards and one touchdown rushing. Running back JoJo Polk scored two touchdowns on 82 yards rushing.
