Today's Election Day will decide numerous national and state races. The local front, while still important, is a bit less dramatic with only one contested race. That race being the Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace race in which the incumbent, Judge Robert S. Shaw, faces Democratic challenger Kathy Chasteen, in his reelection bid.Chasteen was the sole Democrat to enter any of the local races. Johnson County Elections Office officials predict a heavy turnout today all the same given the implications of the state and national races on the ballot.
