Mary Frances Burleson, former president and CEO of the Ebby Halliday Companies, died of natural causes on Nov. 27. She was 87. Burleson, who started her career as a part-time secretary and receptionist in 1958, moved up in the company all the way to CEO from 2000 to 2020. She previously served as Executive Vice President, General Sales Manager and in 1989, was named president of the company. Burleson also opened the fourth office for Ebby Halliday in Richardson. Mentored by Ebby Halliday herself, Burleson and Halliday worked side by side for 57 years during which a close friendship grew.
